A very good first week for The Most Precious of Cargoes in cinemas in France. The film topped the list of releases for Wednesday 20 November, with 139,873 admissions over the week, plus 16,827 previews.

The Most Precious of Cargoes opening film and official competition at Annecy 2024

Annecy opens on June 9 with Michel Hazanavicius. Following its presentation in competition at Cannes, The Moste Precious of Cargoes, the director’s first animated film, will open the world’s biggest festival dedicated to animated cinema. The feature will be presented in the L’Officielle competition alongside 11 other films.

The Most Precious Of Cargoes in official competition at Cannes 2024

The organisers of the 77th Cannes Film Festival have announced the additions to the official selection: The Most Precious Of Cargoes, the first animated film by Michel Hazanavicius for which 3.0 studio is the animation studio and line producer, is in competition for this 2024 edition.
A great accolade for animated films! Indeed, we have to go back to Ari Folman’s Waltz with Bashir in 2008 to find an animated film in official competition on the Croisette.

Screening of the short film Shoah - Bernard Ores on France 3

In memory of Bernard Orès, who was liberated from the Mauthausen concentration camp on 5 May 1945 and died on 17 October, and in memory of all the victims of Nazism, Libre Court is devoting a special programme to the screening of five short films about the Shoah.
Among them, the film SHOAH – BERNARD ORES by Baptiste Drapeau, produced in 2022 in Angoulême by Golem&Linea and realised by 3.0 studio.

Screenings of Shoah - Bernard Orès and Mafalda, come back! at the 50th Angoulême Comic Strip Festival

The short film by Baptiste Drapeau Shoah – Bernard Orès, produced by Golem&Linea and for which all the 2D animation was produced by 3.0 studio, will be screened from January 26 to 29 (morning and afternoon) at the Unesco Pavilion, in within the framework of the association of the Pôle Image Magelis with Cap Bd Angoulême and Unesco.

The documentary film Mafalda, come back!, produced by CFRT in co-production with Joparige Films and of which 3.0 studio produced a large part of the animated sequences, will be screened on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the CGR cinema in Angoulême, followed by an exchange with director Lucia Sanchez.

Cinema for Ukraine - Michel Hazanavicius - Artcurial

On 1st December, Artcurial will auction off a selection of iconic film objects, with the proceeds going to help the people of Ukraine.

Initiated by Michel Hazanavicius, this #charity auction has the dual objective of raising funds for #UNITED24, a donation collecting platform set up by President Volodymyr Zelensky, and symbolically and collectively bringing together personalities from the world of cinema in support of #Ukraine.

Among the prizes, mythical awards such as the César for best director awarded to Jacques Audiard in 2010 for his film Un Prophète, iconic accessories such as the Tissot watch worn by Jean Dujardin in OSS 117, Le Caire nid d’espions or the original helmet from the film Daft Punk’s Electroma, donated and signed by Thomas Bangalter.

Exhibition on November 26, 27, 28 and 29 , from 11h to 18h, 7 Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées 75008 Paris.

The Most Precious of Cargoes in WIP session at Annecy Festival 2022

The team of the film The Most Precious of Cargoes led by its director, graphic designer and co-screenwriter Michel Hazanavicius will unveil, on Friday June 17 at 9:30 a.m., the first images of the feature film in preparation at 3.0 studio in Angoulême.
Also participating in this WIP session: Christophe Jankovic (executive producer), Julien Grande (artistic director) and Marie Bouchet (assistant chief animator).

Extension of the exhibition From Popeye to Persepolis at the Musée de la Cité in Angoulême

Due to the great success of the exhibition “From Popeye to Persepolis” at the Comic Strip museum, its duration has been extended until December 31, 2022.

The exhibition “From Popeye to Persepolis – comics and animated films”, has the unique aim of showing the origin and metamorphosis of a new popular culture. It explores the ways in which two arts, comics and cartoons, and later animated films, grew together, were disseminated and infused into the heart of popular culture.

Without claiming to be exhaustive, the exhibition explores the complex and fruitful relationship between animated film and comics in public and private spaces. Among the rich selection of works on display are the films The Bears’ Famous Invasion in Sicily and Fear(s) of the Dark.

The short film by Joseph Pierce Scale for which 3.0 studio produced the backgrounds layouts and color backgrounds, is part of the official out-of-competition “Special Screenings” selection of the 61st Semaine de la Critique, Cannes 2022 (May 18-26).

The film is already part of the official selection in competition of the Annecy Festival 2022 (June 13-18).

The short film by Julien Sulser Omar et Pincette of which 3.0 studio was executive producer and animation studio, will be presented in Portuguese premiere at the next IndieLisboa Film Festival 2022, in the “IndieJúnior” selection

The film has already been selected in the “young audience” category at the 44th Clermont Ferrand short film festival (January 28 to February 5, 2022).

Awards Souvenir Souvenir

Bastien Dubois’ short film is one of the 12 films in the official selection of animated short films at the Césars 2022 and of the 15 films in the shortlist of animated short films at the Oscars 2022.

These selections are added to the already long list of the film’s prize list: around thirty selections at festivals and more than 10 awards including the Annie Award for best short film (ASIFA-Hollywood – USA), the Prize for the best French-speaking animated film in Clermont Ferrand, the Jury Prize for the best animation at Sundance (USA), the Special Mention of the jury and the Critics’ Prize at the Off-Courts Festival in Trouville, the Émile-Reynaud Prize

New prize for The Bears' Famous Invasion of Sicily at the New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival (Japan) au New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival (Japon)

The Grand Prize in the feature film category of the New Chitose Airport International Animation Film Festival was awarded to Lorenzo Matotti for  The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily.

The film has been selected in around twenty international festivals including Cannes, Anima (Be), Les Césars, Seville (Es), BIAF (Co), Annecy, Locarno (It)… and has received numerous awards including the Junior Europe Prize at the FFE in Seville (Es, 2019), the Best Director at Festa del Cinema di Roma (It, 2019)…

The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily nominated at César 2020 « technical label for production design »

The Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques set up a new system to allow its members to choose among a list of movies pre-selected by experts of the technical branch during the first round of vote. There is no obligation to vote for a movie in the list – it only aims at highlighting the technicians that stood out in the movies of the year.
All the Academy members technicians have had the opportunity to vote on a secured platform from Monday, December 2nd to Friday, December 6th.
5 techniques categories will be awarded during next César Ceremony – Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Sound. 10 films are nominated in each of them.

The Bears’ Famous Invasion of Sicily is nominated for « technical label for production design ».

3.0 studio selected at César & Techniques Award 2020

The Academy Comittee of Technical Industries has nominated on December 9th, 2019, 3.0 Studio and 5 more French technical service providers in cinema for César & techniques Award 2020.
This Award highlights French technical service providers in cinema, and focuses on companies that stood out with their ability to showcase an event, a development strategy or a particular contribution to the film production during the year.
The award-winning company will be elected by all the technicians eligible to the five Techniques César and all the production and post-production managers of the films in competition for the Best Film Cesar 2020, via a secured online vote, on secret ballot under the supervision of a bailiff.
The vote will be opened on December 19th, 2019 until January 7th, 2019 at 7 p.m.
The results will be announced during the Cesar & Techniques 2020 ceremony on Tuesday 7 January at Pavillon Cambon in Paris.
